Vehicle Shipping FAQs

Answers to the most common questions we hear from Knoxville-area shipping customers.

How long does vehicle shipping take?
In-state shipments typically deliver in 1–3 days. Regional moves (500–1,500 miles) take 3–7 days. Cross-country shipments take 7–14 days. Weather and federal hours-of-service rules can affect actual timing.
What's the difference between open and enclosed transport?
Open transport uses uncovered multi-car trailers — affordable and standard for everyday vehicles. Enclosed transport uses fully covered trailers to shield high-value, luxury, classic or exotic vehicles from weather and road debris.
Is my vehicle insured during transport?
Yes. Every carrier in our network maintains active cargo insurance. We verify coverage before dispatch and can provide a certificate of insurance on request.
How much does vehicle shipping cost?
Pricing depends on distance, vehicle size, transport type, vehicle condition and current carrier availability on your route. Call (865) 267-6089 for a real quote based on your specific shipment.
Do you require a deposit?
Deposit policy depends on the carrier and shipment type. Many shipments require no deposit until a carrier is dispatched. We're transparent about deposit terms before you book.
How are pickup and delivery times determined?
You'll receive a pickup window (typically 1–5 days) after booking. Once dispatched, the driver provides a more specific time. Delivery timing depends on distance, route and federal driving-hour rules.
Do I need to be present for pickup and delivery?
An adult 18 or older must be present at both pickup and delivery to sign the bill of lading. You may designate someone else in writing if you can't be there.
Can you ship a non-running vehicle?
Yes. It must be disclosed at booking — inoperable vehicles require a winch-equipped carrier and usually carry an additional fee.
How do I prepare my vehicle for shipping?
Wash it, document its condition with photos, remove personal items, leave about a quarter tank of fuel, disable alarms, provide all keys and note any pre-existing mechanical issues. See our full preparation guide for details.
Can I ship personal items in the vehicle?
Auto-transport carriers are licensed to move vehicles only, not household goods. Carrier insurance does not cover personal belongings and overweight loads can result in DOT fines.
What happens if my vehicle is damaged in transit?
The bill of lading is the foundation of any claim. Note any new damage at delivery before signing. Then contact our team — we walk you through the claim process with the carrier's insurance.
Do you offer expedited or guaranteed pickup?
Yes. Expedited service (a tighter pickup window) and guaranteed pickup on a specific date are available for an additional fee.
Can you ship to or from anywhere in the US?
Through our national carrier network, we coordinate shipments to and from every state in the continental United States. We can also discuss Alaska and Hawaii options.
Do you ship internationally?
Our primary service area is the continental US. For international shipments we can refer you to a vetted international vehicle transport partner.
How do I get a quote?
Call (865) 267-6089 or fill out the contact form on our website. You'll receive a quote based on your specific shipment details — no obligation.
Are quotes binding?
Quotes are based on current market conditions and are typically valid for a few days. Significant changes (route, fuel prices, vehicle details) can affect pricing. We're upfront about any change before you book.
Do you ship motorcycles?
Yes. Motorcycles ship in enclosed trailers using soft-tie strapping systems and motorcycle-specific wheel chocks. See our motorcycle shipping page for details.
Can you handle dealer or wholesale shipments?
Yes. We support single-vehicle dealer transport, multi-car loads, auction pickups (Manheim, Adesa, Copart, IAA) and consolidated dealer logistics.
What if my street can't accommodate a full-size carrier?
The driver will meet you at the closest practical and legal location — typically a wide retail parking lot a short distance from your home.
Do you offer terminal-to-terminal shipping?
Yes, in markets that have terminals. Door-to-door is more common and usually more convenient. We'll recommend the right option based on your needs.
How do you choose carriers?
We vet every carrier for active operating authority, valid cargo insurance, safety record and on-time performance. Bad actors don't make it onto our dispatch list.
Can I track my vehicle in transit?
You'll get driver contact details and proactive updates. Real-time GPS tracking depends on the specific carrier.
